The Brightest and Biggest Supermoon appeared on Sunday Night
These images describe the divine heavenly shower, the super moon that lit up the sky.
Sunday marked this year’s biggest and brightest supermoon that happened at the same time as perigee – when the moon reached the point in its orbit closest to the Earth.
Stargazers around the world, grabbed their mobile phones to capture the glimmering spectacle- which also came at the start of the Perseid meteor shower.
The 2014 calendar year is supposed to showcase five supermoons, the two new moons in January and the full moons of July, August and September, set to shine on Sept.9.
At perigee, the moon could be as close as about 31,000 miles from Earth than when it is farthest away from the Earth.
NASA says last Sunday’s supermoon was the biggest & brightest in 20 years.
