We have seen people living with bizarre, unusual and rare diseases, but this is one of the rarest. After a recent diagnose by a Japanese plastic surgeon, Duangjay Samaksamam a shop worker in Thailand is the first and the only person in the world suffering with Macrodystrophia Lipomatosa from shoulders to her fingers. Because of the uncommon disease, which causes huge amount of fat deposits across her arms, hands and fingers, Samakasamam is living with the largest pair of hands in the world.
Samaksamam from Surin Province in Thailand, has suffered with rare and painful body condition for over a 50 years now, which makes even the simplest daily tasks like cooking and combing hair extremely difficult for her. The 59-year-old has hands that weigh whopping 21 pounds each (one-and-a-half stone).
My hands are so heavy I can barely lift them to comb or shampoo my hair, it’s very difficult.
Samaksamam’s story will be showed in a new series of Body Bizarre on September 25 on TLC. Until then, check the video below to hear Samaksamam speak of her disease and the kind of painful surgeries she has undergone.
