We all seek luxury in the way we commute on a daily basis, but in the process, we are creating enormous harm to the environment.
With the idea to change of few minds at opting for bikes instead of cars as a mode of transportation, a group of Latvian cycling advocates known as Divritenis, took to the streets riding their specially created bikes on International Car Free Day.
For a visual demonstration, the group created skeletal car frames made from bamboos and strapped them onto their bikes. Riding their specially made car-type bikes, the group sent out a message that how much traffic problem and emissions could be reduced if people used bikes instead of cars.
The Divritenis group rode through the streets of Riga for a few hours on the rainy morning of September 22, to show how worthwhile it is to drive massive vehicles to commute single persons, when the same can be achieved by emission free bikes.
