Waldemar von Kazak enjoys an image of notorious, blunt, and sexist artist . This Russian artist has been in news for many of his controversial works.
He plays with surrealism. His works are a sort of social commentary. Kazak is very blunt in using sexual tension to depict modern society and human nature.
He deals with bizarre fantasies, draws blood stained characters in melancholy, and ridicule men dominated society for its lust. On the other hand, his depiction of association of a female with power is somewhat repressive.
A school bus about to be hit by a speeding train, and other illustrations of death, makes perfect subject for him.
There is a lot of pun in his works. For instance, the lady bent over to hold an apple on her butt and partially revealing her breasts, and archer shooting an arrow. Look at the arrow. You can’t really tell which apple the archer wanted to pick.
Then there is a girl, smashing her head right onto the stomach of a wolf, who vomits an old lady’s body parts in proper sequence beginning from head to toe.
Men are pigs when it comes to lust and physical needs. Not all men are pigs, and not all women are innocent, but some men do represent characteristics of a pig when around some females.
Did Kazak wanted to say that women have no grey matter inside their skulls? His works can be interpreted in accordance with individual imagination and experiences, which are always unique for each and every human being.
He didn’t spare even Jesus Christ. He could play with any character and any theme. However, in Kazak’s work there is gloomy, dark seriousness. There is hardly any place for light humor or diluted sarcasm.
