Warts are non-cancerous growths on your skin which can easily spread from one part of your body to another or even from one person to another. Although they can occur on any part of your body, they are usually seen on your hands and feet. Once these warts occur on your skin, they can take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years to disappear, without being treated. However, here are a few home remedies that’ll help you combat them.
Castor Oil contains ricinoleic acid which is effective fighting the warts. It has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties which destroy the human papillomavirus which is responsible for the warts on your body. Castor Oil also contains Vitamin E, minerals and anti-oxidants which are beneficial for good skin health. Moreover, it gets rid of the toxins and dirt in your skin. Massage some castor oil on the warts for 10 minutes. Also, you could soak a cotton ball in castor oil, place it on the wart and leave it on for a couple of hours, securing it with a band aid. Do this twice a day.
Were you aware of the various problems lemon provides relief to? Well, warts are one of them. Lemon contains high amount of citric acid which is effective in breaking down the cells and tissues of the warts and levelling out your skin. The vitamin C present in lemon is highly beneficial in fighting the HPV virus. Also, lemon causes the wart to dry out and fall off from your skin. Take some lemon juice and soak your wart in it for around 10 minutes and let it dry later. Repeat this at least twice a day. However, if you have sensitive skin, avoid using undiluted lemon juice.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Warts are one among the many problems apple cider vinegar provides a relief to. The acetic acid and malic acid present in apple cider vinegar contain antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties which combat the HPV virus responsible for warts. They help in softening the skin, naturally causing the warts to peel off the skin and fall off. Moreover, ACV also has anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties which prevent scars. Apply a little petroleum jelly on the skin surrounding the wart. Now, dip a cotton ball in ACV and place it on the wart, securing it with a band-aid. Leave it on overnight. Repeat this every day.
Tea Tree Oil
An anti-microbial compound present in Tea Tree Oil is effective in hindering the growth of the HPV virus. It is also a natural astringent, which makes it more effective in fighting the warts. The anti-inflammatory properties it has is beneficial in soothing the painful symptoms caused by warts. Clean your warts with warm water and soap. Treat the wart to just one drop of tea tree oil. Cover this region with a bandage and leave it overnight. Repeat the same every night.
Garlic is very effective in strengthening the immune system. It contains allicin which has anti-viral properties which are beneficial in fighting the HPV virus, making the warts fall off. Take a garlic clove and get the paste by crushing it. Smear this all over the warts, covering those regions with a bandage. Leave it for around 8 hours and then repeat again.
